Luna Kids Dance (LKD), established in 1992, is a comprehensive organization designed to deepen and broaden the creative abilities of children through thoughtful inquiry-based projects and those of adults through our professional development services. Our work continues to evolve as we respond to our expanding knowledge of the contexts in which it is situated - our lives, our schools, and our communities.

LKD's comprehensive program components: Children's Services, Early Childhood Education, and Professional Development, fulfill our mission to bring all children to dance and dance to all children.

• We believe that dance has tremendous potential for learning.

• We believe that dance can be a powerful tool for developing
  understanding, tolerance and compassion.

• We believe that nothing is more powerful than creating
  something from one's mind, body, imagination, feelings and spirit.

• We believe that dance can help children find meaning in their
  school lives today AND be a tool with which children learn to
  imagine, create and realize new and better worlds for our future.

• We believe that dance educators must join in alliance with
  school-based teachers and parents to advocate for social change
  in terms of equity and liberation.

• We believe that as a learning organization we must
  work diligently to understand more about our own work
  and the context in which that work is placed.
